◆ Fold&Roll
Help for the tabletop RPG companion app for iPhone and iPad.
Fold&Roll runs your whole tabletop table from the phones already in everyone's pockets. Players get a living character sheet and one-tap dice; the DM gets a battle map with fog of war, an encounter difficulty meter, and a full DM screen. Devices connect directly to each other over your local network — there are no accounts, no sign-ups, and no Fold&Roll server. Game content is drawn from the SRD 5.1 (CC-BY-4.0); Fold&Roll is not affiliated with Wizards of the Coast.
The DM Guide, Player Guide, and Creator Guide are free PDFs covering the full app — running battles, homebrew, content packs, and sharing your own creations.
One device (usually the DM's) hosts the table; the other devices join it. Everyone needs to be on the same Wi-Fi / local network, and the app needs Local Network permission (iOS will ask the first time — allow it, or enable it later in Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network → Fold&Roll). Game state, dice rolls, and table chat travel directly between the devices at your table and nowhere else. If a device can't see the table, check that all devices are on the same network and that no VPN or guest-network isolation is separating them.
Fold&Roll+ is a one-time purchase tied to your Apple ID, not to a device. Install Fold&Roll on the new device while signed in with the same Apple ID, open the Fold&Roll+ paywall, and tap Restore Purchase. Your unlock returns without paying again. The same works after deleting and reinstalling the app.
Cloud Sync (part of Fold&Roll+) keeps your character roster and campaigns in sync across your devices using CloudKit — the data lives in the private database of your own iCloud account, visible only to you. There's no Fold&Roll account and we can't see your data. Turn it on in the app on each device (signed into the same iCloud account), and give it a moment after edits — sync is automatic but not instant. You can turn it off at any time; your data stays on your devices.
No. No accounts, no analytics, no ads, no tracking, and no servers of ours. See the privacy policy for the full picture.
Optional and off by default: if you paste a Discord webhook URL into a campaign's settings (Edit Campaign → Discord Log) and turn it on, the host device posts your table's session feed, rolls, and Table-channel chat directly to your own Discord channel. Use the section's Send Test Message button to confirm it's working.
